Remittance Instructions - Check

If you've selected to remit payment of deferral contributions by check, please follow these mail instructions:

Please make checks payable to "Minnesota Secure Choice."

For proper crediting of funds, please include your Employer Reference Number on the front of the check. 

To locate your Employer Reference Number, please follow these instructions:

1. Log in to your Minnesota Secure Choice employer portal.
2. Navigate to the “Contributions” page by clicking on the icon of the hand holding a coin on the left-hand side of the screen. 
3. Once on the "Contributions" page, find the Payroll Setup screen by clicking the settings gear icon.
4. Click Payment Method Instructions. Your 10-digit Employer Reference Number will be listed as “Reference #: XXXXXXXXXX.”

If you have selected paper check as your payment method, you can also find your Employer Reference Number when you go to regularly submit your contribution file to the portal. A confirmation screen will pop up showing the check mailing instructions, along with the 10-digit Employer Reference Number.
